NEWPORT, RI, May 6, 2010 - George Wein today announced that beginning Tuesday, May 11, tickets for the Newport Folk Festival* (July 30 - August 1) and CareFusion Newport Jazz Festival* (August 6 - 8) will be available for purchase at the new headquarters office in Newport at Empire Tea & Coffee, located at 22 Broadway.

"I've always wanted an office in downtown Newport where we can display some of our memorabilia and give personal service to the loyal local customers who buy tickets for our events each year," said Wein, CEO of New Festival Productions, LLC and producer of both festivals. "In addition, it is an easily accessible location for visitors to stop in and learn more about the current festival as well as about the great jazz and folk music that we have presented here for more than five decades."

Earlier this spring, Wein offered a special advance discount on general admission tickets for local buyers through the Newport Visitor Information Center (NVIC). That discount is no longer available, but general admission tickets still can be purchased at NVIC at the regular price throughout the summer.

The new headquarters will carry all festival tickets, including tickets for the reserved seating section at Fort Adams during the jazz festival and all tickets for the Friday night events at the International Tennis Hall of Fame. There are no service charges on tickets purchased at the festival office. The Friday concerts feature Steve Martin performing with the Steep Canyon Rangers in An Evening of Bluegrass and Banjo plus Tim O'Brien and Sarah Jarosz at the Newport Folk Festival on July 31, and Jamie Cullum and Grace Kelly at the CareFusion Newport Jazz Festival on August 6, both at 8:00 pm. The new festival office will be open May 11 from Noon - 4:00 pm and will be open the following hours during the month of May:

• Tuesdays: Noon - 4:00 pm
• Thursdays: 2:00 - 7:00 pm
• Fridays: Noon - 4:00 pm
